Day Of The Dead
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday meant to celebrate and pray for friends and family who have died, and to help support their spiritual journey. Though it is only a public holiday in Mexico, here in Toronto this past Friday, many bars and restaurants wanted to take part as well and threw their own celebratory party in honour of the Day of the Dead.
Last Friday our team could be found at over 13 bars across the GTA as well as locations North of the city. These venues included, El Jefe, Reposado, Made in Mexico, Playa Cabana, and the biggest party of them all, El Catrin. Patrons were greeted by between 2-4 brand ambassadors offering samples of 3 different spirits. Guests had the options to test either an El Jimador blanco or repasado sample, or Herradura reposado which is a premium tequila dating back to the 1870’s. Once seated at the bar or their table, they were likely greeted again by our staff serving samples and at this time providing a bit more info about the product or even an offering of the product in a different format (ex. Herradura Old Fashion). (Don’t worry these were small samples, just enough of a taste to encourage patrons to later purchase from the bar!)
Along with the tequila samplings, guests were also able to take home some memorabilia from their time at the Day of the Dead parties, as reps handed out colorful t shirts, cool patches, and more! El Catrin even had some more interactive and engaging features to their event. There was a photobooth with fun accessories (hats, masks, and more!), an opportunity to learn and interact with a tequila expert, a face painting station (so guest could blend in with the sugar skull murals on the wall) and to top it all off, a dance class upstairs! You don’t want to miss this event next year that is for sure.
We are very proud of our team’s performance this past weekend as they all did a great job! Another exciting activation we were recently a part was the 30th anniversary of the Teddy Bear Affair Gala. G of G Inc was ecstatic to be offered the chance to donate our team to this amazing foundation again, as we have over the last few years.
