Healthy Eating With G of G Inc

posted on June 27th 2018 in Events with 0 Comments

Leading a healthy lifestyle is of great interest here at G of G Inc both in our offices as well as for those who are a part of our roster across North America. We recently activated in Secaucus, NJ at the Meadowlands Exposition Center for the Allegiance Holiday Food Show. The G of G Inc team was representing Sunset Grown and had a great time within this food filled footprint!

Our staff was trained in advance of the shift, so she would be able to present speaking points to guests at the tradeshow and represent Sunset Grown effectively and professionally! She also was in charge of setting the booth up in a way that would be most visually appealing to guests passing by, helping to entice them into the footprint to learn about the brand and their products.

Sunset grown provides greenhouse grown vegetables to consumers all year long. The specific products featured at this show were:

  1. Angel sweet
  2. One sweet tomato
  3. Gourmet medley
  4. Mini cucumbers
  5. Rainbow pepper pack

We thought we would share some tasty recipes from their website that incorporate the healthy vegetables above!

Tomatoes Caprese Cocktail Picks with Balsamic Glaze

Ingredients

1 package SUNSET® ONE SWEET® Tomatoes
12 small fresh basil leaves
24 ciliegine mozzarella balls (about an 8-oz container), drained well
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup purchased balsamic glaze*
24 short bamboo or other fun picks

Directions

To assemble: Thread onto each pick in this order: a tomato, a basil leaf, a mozzarella ball and another tomato.

Place assembled picks on a platter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drizzle with balsamic glaze right before serving. Serve any extra balsamic glaze in a tiny bowl for dipping or with a spoon for drizzling.

Mini Cucumber Pogos

This delicious vegetarian snack is the perfect alternative to the traditional pogo stick.

Ingredients

6 SUNSET® Mini Cucumber, quartered
3 sheets Filo pastry
¼ lb butter, melted
salt
white pepper
2 sprigs fresh thyme, finely chopped
¼ bunch chives, finely chopped

Directions

Lay first layer of filo on your work table and brush with melted butter. Season with salt and pepper. Place second sheet on top of first and brush with melted butter, sprinkle chopped herbs evenly across this layer. Place third sheet of filo down and smooth out to avoid wrinkles.

Cut filo in pieces as wide as the cucumber quarters and long enough to go around the cucumber  1.5 times and place on a 6 inch skewer. Brush edge of filo to ensure it is sealed and place the skewered cucumber on a parchment covered baking sheet.

Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes or until filo is golden brown.

Garnish using your favourite condiment.
